Looking for an original gift idea to please your mother on Mother's Day? More original and more durable than a bouquet of flowers, here is the best gift: a bouquet of trees!
Trees store CO2 far into the future. They are vital to the green transition, fighting climate change and supporting biodiversity in local, natural habitats.
Many tree species live much longer than us humans. Your sustainable gift is the perfect, eco-friendly alternative that can help the planet today and decades from now.
As trees grow, they increase in value. When their life cycle is over, they are sold as sustainable timber. That makes your gift a long-term, green investment.

It’s quite difficult to wrap a tree! Instead, you can give your unique Mother's Day gift with one of our gift cards. You can even choose how you share it.
Looking to buy a unique Mother’s Day gift that's eco-friendly, original and packed with meaning? Here are the answers to some common questions.
Well, have you ever given your mum a tree for Mother’s Day before? It’s the perfect gift if you want to show that you think a little differently and really care for the environment. Of course, you could do the same as everyone else and order your Mother’s Day gift online or your local store. But rest assured, they won’t be as eco-friendly and memorable as a tree. A tree can also be the perfect gift for many other occasions, whether that’s Valentine's Day, a birth, Christmas, Father's Day or Mother’s Day and even to honor the memory of a loved one.
All the trees you buy through EcoTree’s treeShop are grown in our forests in France and Denmark. They first get planted and are grown in local nurseries where our expert foresters care for them and help them mature until they can produce valuable lumber. We apply the principles of sustainable forest management in all our forests. What does that mean? We avoid clear cuts and prefer continuous cover silviculture, which helps promote, protect and conserve natural habitats and biodiversity.
Been given a tree as an eco-friendly gift for Mother’s Day? You’ll need to add it to a new online EcoTree account, or your current account if you already have one. You’ll be able to see your tree’s location, age and species, as well as the date we estimate the tree will be ready to cut. As your tree was a unique and sustainable Mother’s Day gift, you will want to check out the amount of CO2 your tree has sequestered throughout its lifetime. You can find the GPS coordinates of the forest on Google or on the page dedicated to forests on our website. You can even visit our forests from April to October and see our trees in person.
We love forests and our mission is to plant trees as part of a sustainable approach to renew and protect forests. We have a team of foresters who care for our trees throughout their lifetime. Not only do we plant trees in new spaces, when older trees mature they are cut and used for quality timber and other trees are planted in their place, unless they grow back on their own. Foresters often favour natural regeneration, which just means trees that have grown naturally and without the help of us humans. There may be several reasons to plant trees, including that natural regeneration does not happen or because the climatic conditions are bad. Sometimes, trees are planted to modify the diversity of forest species, so they can adapt to climatic disturbances.
Ever given your mum a bunch of flowers for Mother’s Day? We think trees are an even better gift idea, because they are full of meaning and eco-friendly. Those flowers will be gone in days, but buy your mum a tree and it will grow for many years in EcoTree forests. Trees are symbolic, full of meaning and, if you want to, you can even bring your mum to an EcoTree forest to see her unique Mother’s Day gift in person. As your relationship grows and develops over time, so will the gift of trees.
Come on – is there anyone who doesn't enjoy spending time in the trees? They are natural, living organisms that give life and soul to our natural environment. In fact, forests are often called the Earth’s lungs as life would not be possible without them. After all, they provide the oxygen we breathe and rich soils that contain the nutrients we need to grow our food. As the seasons change over the year, so does life in the forest as they are home to fauna, flora and plenty of wildlife. And though it’s true climate change is having an impact on how we live, people are beginning to understand the vital role trees play in building a sustainable future for our planet. These are all great things to share with your mum when you give her the gift of trees. We think she will absolutely love this meaningful, unique Mother’s Day gift that also has a hugely positive impact on the world.
