###  Becoming a B Corp® 





B Lab®’s assessment covers five key areas: Environment, Workers, Community, Governance and Customers.





The minimum requirement is 80 points; in 2025, we were recertified with 125.7 points.





Our B Corp™ status is reviewed every three years, but under the new rules we will need to be recertified as early as 2026.













###  How we work with purpose and in line with B Corp® values 











Environment\*

Our strongest category, with a score of 58.7 points, partly due to our work on land and nature conservation.





Governance

We have anchored our purpose in our legal framework, as reflected in the ‘Mission Locked’ sub-category, which comprises 10 points.





Workers

Our employees rate us highly across the areas of financial security, health and safety, and staff engagement and satisfaction.





Community

The community is reflected in our work with local forest managers and partners across France, Germany and Denmark.





Customers

We combine profit with purpose through a business model designed to create a demonstrable environmental impact for our clients & partners, rather than to maximise sales.





At its first certification in 2021, EcoTree was recognised on B Lab’s prestigious [Best for The World™](https://bcorporation.net/best-for-the-world-2021) list in the Environment category, an accolade awarded to the top 5 per cent of B Corp-certified companies globally within their size and sector.  
  
As one of the first companies to undergo recertification, we increased our score from 89.4 to 125.7 points and now sit well above the median of 50.9 and the qualifying threshold of 80 points. Due to new certification rules, we have already started work on our next certification for 2026.

B Corp® certification is not an end in itself; it is a commitment to continuous improvement. Our recertification in 2025 confirms that we have met the standards we set ourselves in 2021, and we will continue to strive for even better results by the next assessment.  
  
In practice, this means: continuing sustainable forest management and ecosystem restoration in Europe, expanding our biodiversity projects, and ensuring full transparency regarding our methods and results for the companies we work with.
