Silver Fir

The Silver fir (Abies alba) is the tallest tree in Europe. It can reach 60 meters high. It is present in cold and humid environments at altitudes between 400 and 1500 meters above sea level. The trunk is straight and the branches are horizontal. It is typically planted together with Beech or Sylvester Pine. Moreover, the silver fir is generally managed in forests with mixed age groups. This allows the silver fir to be an interesting investment because this management method involves never going through a clear cut but rather harvesting every 7 years during thinnings. This type of management will ensure a regular income.
