The Italian maple (Acer opalus) is a medium-sized tree, but can grow up to 30 m in the forest. It grows mainly in the Mediterranean basin, its leaves have 5 lobes and are slightly hairy below.
This species makes the forest stronger and more resilient, which improves the health of the entire plot by promoting biodiversity. Its expected profitability is linked to the logging of the stand where it grows.
Explore EcoTree's unique approach to forestry, reforesting and how we give everyone a chance to own a piece of the forest.
