### Expected gain
The expected gross gain corresponds to the amount (in the selected currency) that we will pay you back when your trees have been cut. It is based on the natural growth rate of a tree, which is estimated at around 2% per year. This expected gain is referred to as “gross" because it is calculated on the basis of the price of the tree excluding VAT.

### Redwood
A symbol of eternity, absolute greatness, and the depth of time, the Redwood is the tallest tree in the world — a presence that puts everything into perspective and invites contemplation of what lies beyond the human scale. It is the ultimate gift to mark a birth, a wedding, or any event you wish to anchor in eternity.
Its evergreen branches and spongy bark shelter a rare and varied fauna, from salamanders to high-canopy birds, and its forests create unique microclimates that support exceptional biodiversity. Its extraordinary longevity makes it an irreplaceable guardian of the ecological memory of forests.
The Redwood (Sequoia sempervirens) is a conifer native to the west coast of the United States, capable of reaching over 115 metres in height and living for more than 2,000 years. It is the tallest living tree on the planet, with some specimens having witnessed entire civilisations rise and fall beneath their branches.

### About Langonnet forest
### About Langonnet forest
The Langonnet forest is a former farmland of 29 hectares, located in Morhiban in Brittany. It is composed of multiple wooded plots of various trees species ([sessile oak](/en/species/4), [cedar](/en/species/24), [Douglas fir](/en/species/2), [Scots pine](/en/species/23), [cherrywood](/en/species/12), checker trees, red cedar…), a meadow, a wild orchard and a wetland. The Langonnet river also runs through the forest for a kilometre.
We have restored and enhanced the Bodero menhir, which stands on the edge of the woods. Home to great biodiversity, the forest is also home to beehives and a honey hedge.
