The Vancouver fir (also known as Grand fir, Giant fir, lowland Hhite fir, Great silver fir, Western white fir, or Oregon fir), is a tree species of the Pinaceae family, native to North America. It was introduced in Europe in 1831. This tree can reach 50 to 55 m in France, and up to 80 m in its original territory. Its wood, easy to work with, is used in France for carpentry, woodwork, box-making, formwork and paper-making.
