Owning a tree… Sounds simple, right? But when you become a tree owner, you do far more than buy a tree planted in one of our forests. You’re investing in the planet, your future, and a greener way of life. It’s a small action with a massive impact and the best part? You don’t need to be a forestry expert or have acres of land. It’s all taken care of for you.
So, what does it actually mean to be a tree owner? Let’s dig in.
Your very own tree (or trees!)
First things first, when you buy a tree, it’s yours. You fully own it, growing in a lush, sustainably managed forest. We provide you with a tree certificate proving the ownership of the tree(s).
Whether you invest in a single tree or decide to build your little forest with a forest subscription, you’re securing a long-term, tangible asset that you can watch grow year after year.
Track your trees via your EcoTree account
As a tree owner, you can access a personal online dashboard, which we refer to as your EcoTree account, to track your trees' growth and estimated value. You can even see where they’re located via their GPS coordinates. You’ll be part of a growing community of more than 86.000 individuals and receive updates on how your trees are doing and what’s happening in the forests they grow in, ensuring you always know what’s happening with your investment. It’s like having your tree(s) at your fingertips!
A sustainable investment with an average 2% annual ROI
Trees aren’t just great for the environment; they grow in value, too. On average, the wood volume of your trees increases by 2% per year, meaning your investment naturally appreciates over time. When your trees reach maturity, they’ll be responsibly harvested for sustainable timber, and 100% of the profits from the timber sale go directly to you. It’s a win-win: you contribute to the planet and benefit financially simultaneously.
Should your tree outlive you, for example, if your tree has a cutting date of 150 years from now, you can add a trusted third party who will receive the tree ownership and the profit from the harvest.
Sustainable forest management, with no effort required
No need to worry about planting or maintaining your trees. That’s all taken care of by our foresters. They ensure your trees thrive in a biodiverse, well-maintained environment, so all you have to do is sit back and watch them grow.
Your positive impact on the climate and biodiversity
By owning trees, you’re actively making the world a greener place. Here’s how:
- Your trees absorb up CO₂, helping to combat climate change. Read about how much CO2 a tree absorbs.
- Sustainably managed forests provide homes for wildlife and maintain healthy ecosystems.
- When harvested, your trees contribute to eco-friendly industries and reduce reliance on deforestation.
Simply put, your investment directly helps the planet thrive.
A certified & transparent process
Tree ownership is backed by forestry certifications, ensuring transparency and sustainability. You can access documentation proving your ownership, and everything is managed under strict environmental and ethical guidelines. This isn’t just about planting trees; it’s about protecting and growing forests responsibly.
Visit your trees & see the magic in person
One of the most rewarding parts of being a tree owner? You can visit your trees! You can find the locations of your trees via your EcoTree account. Our forests are open to the public between April and October; however, if the trees were recently planted, they need at least three years to grow strong before we open them.
Walk through the forest, see them standing tall, and know you’ve made it all happen. It’s an experience like no other, your personal connection to nature in the heart of the forest.
Why wait? Start growing your tree collection today!
Being a tree owner is more than an investment; it’s a legacy. It’s about making a difference, contributing to sustainability, and enjoying the rewards of responsible forestry. Whether you start with one tree or many, you’re taking a step toward a greener, more sustainable world.
So, are you ready to grow something amazing? Your trees are waiting for you.
