Sorb tree

the Cormier (sorbus domestica) is a tree of the family Rosaceae, it has for origin the Mediterranean basin. It can reach 15 to 20 m high, its leaves are deciduous and pinnate 13 to 21 leaflets. The orange-brown bark resembles that of the oak.

This species makes the forest stronger and more resilient, which improves the health of the entire plot by promoting biodiversity. Its expected profitability is linked to the logging of the stand where it grows.

About Montplonne Forest

Between the communes of Montplonne and Stainville, the Montplonne Forest is located. The property is made up of 3 forest clusters comprising more than ten different species of trees. These include whitebeams, Austrian black pines and Norway maples.

We acquired this large forest in the autumn of 2022 with the aim of bringing it to its full potential by adapting our management to its natural characteristics. Sanitary cuts were carried out there by the previous owner to combat the spread of bark beetles due to repeated droughts and mild winters in recent years.
