Pedunculate Oak

The Pedunculate Oak (Quercus robur) is a species of deciduous foliage trees native to temperate regions of Europe, belonging to the Fagaceae family. The most typical tree of our forests, it symbolizes power, majesty and durability. It was long cultivated for its acorns, intended to feed pigs, as well as for its hard and very resistant wood, used in particular in shipbuilding and carpentry. Today, this species is particularly appreciated for the manufacture of parquet floors, barrels, stairs and furniture.

About Lacelle forest

About Lacelle forest

The Lacelle forest is located in Corrèze (19) on the Limousin granite plateaus (Plateau des Millevaches) and is divided into three parts. An plot of 18 ha of meadows leased to a local farmer, a second plot of around 20 ha that was clear-cut back in 2013 and which has not been reconstituted, and a third plot of approximately 30 ha of tree stands. The Pradel stream runs through the plots. The tree stands will be managed as an irregular high forest, as will the clear-cut plot, on which reforestation is planned. Due to the clear-cutting carried out by the previous owner, which has not been reconstituted, it will take many years to recover a forest like this one but it has good potential for biodiversity. Our ambition is to manage this complex forest according to the principles of mixed forestry with a continuous cover, adopting Nature-based Solutions to restore and enhance biodiversity, while ensuring sustainable management of forest resources.
