The Cedar thrives best in loose soil where its roots can go deep and absorb the minerals. It grows well in limestone or siliceous soils and not well suited for clay and compact soils. It is very resistant against cold and drought. It is capable of drawing water deep in the ground. Moreover, it is a wood rich in oils.
