Since we took over the management of this forest. we planted an area with Sitka Spruce in 2020.
In 2021, the poplar plot was thinned to reduce the number of stems in the stand and favour those with greater potential. Additionally, some Vancouver fir trees in poor condition were put up for sale to make the most of the standing timber. Finally, during that year, maintenance work was carried out in the
Sitka spruce stand being reforested.
In 2022, the Vancouver firs were sold after a felling, along with other trees that did not belong to EcoTree customers.
In 2023, Storm Ciarán heavily affected the
Pleyben forest. Some of the trees in the forest were damaged or fell during the storm, particularly
Douglas fir, Sitka spruces, Wild Cherry, Maples and Red Oaks.
In the summer of 2025, the fallen or damages conifers was removed from the forest, and the deciduous trees are scheduled to be removed in the winter of 2025/2026. New plantations will replace them in the spring of 2026.
