JUST: Achieving Net Zero by 2050
To align with its SBTi commitments, Just will address part of its scope 1 and 2 emissions by acquiring around 60,000 carbon credits. These credits, certified by Bureau Veritas, support projects in French forests managed under the EcoTree approach tailored to mixed-species forestry with continuous cover.
United B: Capture of unavoidable emissions
Following efforts to avoid and reduce emissions, United B is launching an initiative to offset its remaining scope 1 and 2 emissions, estimated at 5900 Teq CO₂, through carbon capture. The carbon credits, validated by Bureau Veritas, are based on French forest projects applying a continuous-cover forestry method adapted to mixed species.
Acer: Restoration of burned forests - Label Bas Carbone
As part of its Earthion initiative, Acer has committed to significantly reducing its environmental footprint. The company is contributing to the reforestation of the fire-damaged Ruaudin forest in France, securing 1.000 carbon credits certified under the Label Bas Carbone scheme. This transparent and sustainable project has restored 6 hectares of forest land.
Building a Carbon Contribution Strategy
"While developing a strategy to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions, Mata Capital partnered with EcoTree to shape its approach to supporting carbon sinks.
We supported Mata Capital in determining the volume and type of carbon credits it would commit to financing through to 2050. A series of training sessions and progress checkpoints were introduced, followed by the creation of an annual management tool.
In doing so, Mata Capital was able to clearly define the kinds of projects it would support and the volume of carbon equivalent to finance, in line with environmental regulatory frameworks. The company also learned how to communicate its climate commitments credibly and avoid the pitfalls of greenwashing."
H&M: Supporting biodiversity across France
Since September 2020, H&M has donated the full proceeds (excluding VAT) from its paper bag sales to EcoTree, helping fund over 20 biodiversity-focused projects across France. These include the restoration of two 3.5-hectare wetlands in Brittany, the installation and care of 247 beehives and 100 bird boxes, and the development of two educational nature trails in northern and central France. H&M has also supported three marine clean-up operations near Marseille and Saint-Tropez, the restoration of fire-damaged woodland in Marzols, the planting of a wild orchard in Langonnet forest, and the creation of a flower meadow in Préaux forest.
XBEE: Championing bees and forest regeneration
Since 2019, XBEE Enzyme Fuel Technology has worked with EcoTree to sponsor four beehives in France in Châtelain and Plouray forests. The company originated in Brittany and has planted over 50 trees in the region as part of its local environmental efforts.
« We are really happy about this partnership with EcoTree, happy to help bees and trees in this beautiful region, and happy to do more for our environment! »
– Ronan Pennec, CEO of XBEE
Rubel & Menasché: Revitalising pollinator habitats
Rubel & Menasché partnered with EcoTree to establish a 500 m² flower meadow in Lalacelle, Normandy, along a stream bordered by farmland. Previously a pasture, the site now offers a vital food source for wild pollinators. The meadow also contributes to soil retention, enriches the local landscape, and promotes biodiversity through more varied land use.
Danival: Advancing agroforestry through everyday action
To celebrate its 30th anniversary, Danival launched the #TousEngagés (#GetInvolved) campaign. For every product purchased in their supermarket chain Naturalia, 50 cents were donated to EcoTree to support agroforestry initiatives. This funding enabled an 8-hectare organic mushroom farm to transition to an agroforestry model, restoring biodiversity and improving resilience within the agricultural landscape.

Origins: Strengthening customer loyalty through local reforestation
Origins has partnered with organisations worldwide for over ten years to support global tree planting. Since 2009, its initiative has pledged, planted and maintained over 2.3 million trees. Origins Nordic collaborated with EcoTree to make a more local environmental impact in keeping with this international mission. Since 2021, Origins Nordic has backed the planting and maintenance of more than 11,000 trees across France and Denmark through a range of in-store and online customer-facing campaigns.
La Vosgienne: Connecting consumers with forests
La Vosgienne teamed up with EcoTree for a project that reflects the essence of its brand. Customers are invited to sponsor a tree in the Vosges forest in France, with the initiative promoted through a game featured directly on product packaging. Participants can select the species of tree they'd like to support and are entered into a draw to win a tree in full ownership. This campaign has led to the planting and sustainable care of 5,000 trees.
OVO Energy: Scaling responsibly with forest impact
As part of its sustainable growth strategy, OVO Energy partnered with EcoTree to meaningfully contribute to French reforestation efforts. The company has funded the planting of 60,000 trees on former farmland to encourage biodiversity through mixed-species forestry. The planting took place during an employee-led visit to the Ploërdut forest in Morbihan, Brittany, which spans 11.6 hectares.
Siemens Gamesa: Acting locally with long-term impact
To reflect its local sustainability goals, Siemens Gamesa planted 1,134 trees in Thisted, Denmark, near its national headquarters. In 2022, Siemens and EcoTree organised a forest day involving employees and their families, who took part in weeding, cleaning and additional planting where needed, reinforcing their hands-on commitment to local nature restoration.
Aligning with compensation and reporting requirements
We partnered with a French property developer to implement reforestation projects across 22 hectares, generating over 4,000 carbon credits. These were integrated into the company’s CSR reporting, enabling it to address increasing stakeholder expectations around environmental performance while contributing to the carbon neutrality of its developments.
Assessing natural capital to shape sustainability strategy
An international tourism group carried out a comprehensive audit of its natural capital to assess the condition and ecological value of its assets. This evaluation provided a robust foundation for developing a targeted and credible environmental strategy, in line with growing customer demand for sustainability.
Enhancing the value of forestry holdings
A major banking group conducted a thorough review of its forestry portfolio, spanning several thousand hectares, incorporating both carbon and biodiversity metrics. Through this collaboration, EcoTree became a trusted long-term partner, supporting various entities within the group to align forestry asset management with overarching CSR goals.
Unlocking the full potential of forestry assets
A private landowner considering selling a forest approached us for a comprehensive valuation of the land and standing timber and future forestry income, carbon storage, biodiversity, and recreational value. After discovering the forest’s full potential, the owner retained and enhanced the forest, investing in its long-term ecological and economic value.
