EcoTree shares a common conviction with other enterprises: business practices must be rooted in universal principles in order to contribute to society and preserve the environment. To strengthen its engagement in favour of sustainable development, since 2022, EcoTree has been committed to the UN Global Compact corporate responsibility initiative and its principles in the areas of human rights, labour, the environment and anti-corruption.

What’s the UN Global Compact?

The UN Global Compact is a voluntary leadership platform for the development, implementation and disclosure of responsible business practices. Created in 2000 as a special initiative by the UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan, the Global Compact is now the world's largest corporate sustainability initiative. It comprises more than 15,000 participants in over 160 countries. Counting about 70 Local Networks, the Global Compact also contributes to advancing corporate sustainability at national and regional levels.

Signatories to the UN Global Compact commit to aligning their operations and strategies with ten universally accepted principles drawn from key UN Declarations and Conventions.
These principles cover the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption. Incorporating these principles into their strategies, policies and procedures, encourage signatoriets to create economic, social, societal and environmenal values. Signatories are also encouraged to align with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) more broadly.

EcoTree just signed on to the Global Compact

At EcoTree, we’re pleased to announce that we are now a signatory to the UN Global Compact. From 2022, EcoTree will be committed to the UN Global Compact corporate responsibility initiative and its principles in the areas of human rights, labour, the environment and anti-corruption. Supporting the Compact means reinforcing our existing commitment to environmental, economic and social sustainability.

“Our engagement means that we’ll keep integrating the Ten Principles of the Global Compact into our strategy, our culture and daily operations. Every year, we’ll renew our commitment and publish a report of our actions and their impact. We’ll disclose our engagements and their results to our stakeholders to prove our commitment to the Ten Principles”, explains EcoTree’s Innovation and CSR Manager, Louisiane Guezel.

The UN Global Compact is an initiative that mostly engages the private sector and translates the SDGs into "business language". Being part of this initiative strengthens our willingness to contribute to global sustainability, increases the trust of our stakeholders and diversifies our learning opportunities.
