The Taeda Pine, also know as Loblolly Pine, Pinus Taeda is native to the south-eastern region of the United States. The tree is from the Pinaceae family and was introduced to Europe in 1713.
Taeda Pine is wind resistant, an advantage in the light of climate change. Plus, its quality wood is highly valued in carpentry and interior joinery.
Taeda Pine is a demanding, coniferous tree which, when planted in its preferred soil, has high growth potential. It has very good wind resistance. The Taeda Pine prefers deep, acidic, well-drained soil with a good water supply. It is a full-light species that needs a rainfall of at least 800 mm over the year. It is very sensitive to drought and does not tolerate dry soil, but can acclimatise in altitudes up to 440 meters.
The yellow-white matt-gloss heartwood of the Taeda Pine is durable. The heartwood is reddish and the sapwood is thick. It is easy to saw and dries without warping or splitting. The loblolly pine is an excellent wood for carpentry and interior joinery. It is also used for panelling, pallets, and paper pulp. The wood from Taeda Pine is high-quality, light, and very flexible yet strong.
Taeda Pine, or Loblolly Pine, symbolises immortality. Its persistent foliage and resin lend to its symbolism in many cultures. For an unforgettable birthday gift, give a Loblolly Pine and wish a long life to a loved one. Express your best wishes in a special way through a unique and original gift!
