Cleaning up litter to protect Nouic Forest

Help us protect the beauty and health of Nouic Forest by supporting waste clean-up through a social reintegration program.

Did you know?

Lack of cleanliness is one of the main complaints from people who visit the forest. Rubble, household appliances, food scraps, and garden waste all pollute the soil and water. This waste can be dangerous for wildlife and humans alike, especially when it contains toxic substances such as asbestos.
Even green waste, although natural, does not belong in forests: it can encourage the spread of invasive plants, takes a long time to decompose, and can deplete or even suffocate forest soils.
Cleaning up forests does not mean removing branches, leaves, or dead trees, but rather the waste that irresponsible individuals leave behind, treating nature like a dumping ground. To tackle this, we are raising funds to support an employment reintegration association that carries out this important clean-up work.

Overview

Overview

When we bought the plots of land for the future Nouic Forest in the autumn of 2022, they were old, abandoned farmland where the previous owner had left waste from farming activities. Unfortunately, over the years, other people had also dumped rubbish on the land.
There is still a considerable amount of waste to be cleared away to give the new forest the best possible start and ensure it becomes a beautiful place for everyone to enjoy. In addition, 1,300 metres of old fencing must also be removed.
To carry out this work, we are collaborating with a local association that helps people reintegrate into the job market. They are responsible for clearing the land and removing all remaining waste from the future forest.
