The Louargat forest - from left to loved
This month we will take a closer look at one of our newest forests. It needs a lot of work, but we will turn it into a truly majestic forest with your trees in it!
To take over a piece of land to create a wonderland for animals and trees is like entering an adventure. Our ambition to make durable, healthy forests full of life becomes even more exciting when we get to create the forests from scratch. And that's exactly what is happening right now in Louargat.
When?
We took over the Louargat Forest in late 2019… Or actually it wasn’t a forest. The 4,28 hectare land was previously used for agriculture. We needed a comprehensive plan for the forest, and so we could prepare the soil and start planting trees in March 2020.
What?
To create a forest in balance, we planted several different species, including douglas fir, sitka spruce and red oak.
Why?
We particularly fell in love with the land because of its stunning views. If you haven’t visited the area before, you’d be amazed by its beauty.
Where?
The municipality of Louargat stretches from the town of Saint-Eloi to the forest of Coat an Noz and Coat an Hay. It borders the Menez Brè, The summit of Trégor, where the Guindy river passes.
