Awards 2020: Our passion for the planet is getting recognition!
It’s been a fantastic year for awards for EcoTree. From sustainability awards to tech for good, we’re so happy to see our passion for the planet recognised!
And the award goes to… Us! We don’t like to blow our own trumpet. But someone has to. For the good of the planet! Because since spreading our roots across Europe and opening our international head office in Copenhagen, we’ve won some pretty exciting awards.
Awards really do mean the world to us
The recognition we’ve received in a number of European awards this year is not only motivating for us and our mission to bring the world into sustainable forestry. It’s great news for your trees too. And hopefully, it will bring you some new neighbours in the forest! These are the trophies we’re currently cuddling in bed at night…
People’s Choice Award at the Danish SDG Tech Awards 2020
Is there any better award to win than a “People’s Choice”? It was great validation for our growing movement last month when Thomas, our International CEO (pictured), went along to collect our achievement. The SDG Tech Awards celebrate the vital role technology plays in furthering the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. And we’re passionate about the role we play in promoting a sustainable future for all. So it was a particularly wonderful win!
Danish-French Chamber of Commerce Entrepreneurial Initiative 2020
We just WON this brilliant initiative, supporting French-Danish companies - what we are! Our CEOs, Thomas and Théo, get all the best jobs and they got to go along to the official ceremony on November 27th, to meet the Ambassador and collect the award. We’re delighted to be part of a network that helps innovative cross-national initiatives blossom.
Environment winner of the French Tech for Good Awards 2020
Another biggie! So big, in fact, that our win in the Environment category of the Tech for Good Awards 2020 was announced on French TV by the Secretary of State for Social Economy. Annabelle, our Innovation Manager, and Baudouin, EcoTree’s COO & Co-founder, went along to the studio to smile and collect our fantastic win. And your forests were displayed for all of France to see on the big screen. We’re very proud of the French team!
Shortlisted for the World Economic Forum’s Uplink Trillion Trees Challenge
In September 2020 we received the fantastic news that out of more than 250 applications, we’d been picked as one of a winning cohort of 20 projects competing for the Trillion Trees Challenge. The World Economic Forum selected us to receive support and visibility on their influential online platform, to help launch our initiative across Europe. Though we didn’t go on to win (details!) we felt like winners and that’s what matters, right?!
And we were so close to winning this…
Best Climate Impact Startup at the Nordic Startup Awards
It was blooming great news when the jury selected us as finalists in the Nordic Startup Awards as the Best Climate Impact Startup. That put us through to a people’s vote, and though we didn’t win overall, we actually won the most people’s votes! So… we’re demanding a recount. (Just kidding.) So we’re delighted to have again resonated with ordinary people in this process.
Thanks for your support this year and especially to everyone who voted for us in the two people’s choice awards. It really means a lot. Here’s to a fantastic 2021 for everyone.
