Our Guiscriff forest is located in Morbihan in northwestern France. Previously, it was prairies and agricultural land. The forest grows in sandy and cleyey soil on a southfaceing granite bedrock, and benefits from more than 1.000 mm rainfall yearly. This forest will be planted with different species of trees by our local partners in the autumn of 2023. We are also upkeeping the embankment and hedges already present there.
The property was purchased in 2023, and the plantation is scheduled for 2023, covering 13.5 hectares of meadows. Divided into two plots, the main tree species will be conifers such as Douglas firs and maritime pines. To diversify the stands, Monterey pine, beech, sequoia, and Turkish fir will be planted as accompanying species.
