### Black Alder
**A symbol of generosity**, vitality, and rootedness at the water's edge, the Black Alder is the tree of riverbanks and wetlands, always present where life thrives. It is **a meaningful gift to celebrate a birth** or to inaugurate a garden you hope to see flourish and grow.
Able to naturally enrich the soil with nitrogen through bacteria housed in its roots, it improves the fertility of its surroundings and supports the growth of neighbouring species. Its catkins and seeds are also a precious food source for many bird and insect species, and its submerged roots provide essential habitat for fish and aquatic invertebrates.
The Black Alder (*Alnus glutinosa*) is a deciduous tree that grows naturally along watercourses and in marshy areas throughout Europe. A true pioneer, it is one of the first trees to colonise wetland areas, stabilising riverbanks and creating the conditions needed for other species to establish.

### About the La Salle Forest
The La Salle forest is nestled in Northeastern France in the Vosges.
It is divided into several parcels, including a cutting area for replanting and charming deciduous groves. The forest is also crossed by a hiking trail. A small stream winds through the forest, creating a habitat rich in biodiversity. You'll also find the remains of an old forge.
