### Sorb tree
A **symbol of rarity, patience, and preciousness**, the Sorb tree is one of the rarest and most valuable trees in our forests. It is one that few people know and even fewer are lucky enough to encounter. To give a Sorb tree is to give something truly unique; it is **an ideal gift for a nature enthusiast** or to mark **an exceptional friendship**.
Its small, tart orange fruits are highly prized by thrushes, blackbirds, and other frugivorous birds in autumn, while its white spring blossom draws many pollinators. Its presence in a bocage landscape is often a sign of ancient woodland and remarkable local biodiversity.
The Sorb tree (*Sorbus domestica*) is a deciduous tree of the rose family, known for producing exceptionally hard wood that was once highly sought after in instrument-making and fine cabinet-making. Naturally solitary, it has become rare in our landscapes, making it all the more precious to plant and protect.

### About Ajoux Forest
### About Ajoux Forest
Located between the villages of Mauves and Ajoux, on the slopes of the Serre du Pied de Boeuf in the Monts d'Ardèche, the forest borders the commune of Ajoux, with which it shares a name.
The Ajoux forest is located at an altitude of between 545 and 730 m, and the hills of the mountains is made up of of ridges and valleys irrigated by permanent or temporary streams. The area is facing North on steep slope of between 35° and 15°. The climate is continental and the forest rises on a granitic geological formation.
