### Poplar
**A symbol of speed, momentum, and natural generosity**, the Poplar is the fastest-growing tree in our landscapes, transforming a space within just a few years and quickly offering life and shelter to the wildlife around it. It is **an energetic gift for someone who moves quickly through life**, or to mark the beginning of a project that aims high.
Its spring catkins are an early and valued pollen source for bees, and its sheltered wood provides habitat for many insect and cavity-nesting bird species. Along riverbanks, it stabilises the banks, creates essential biodiversity corridors, and regulates the water cycle for the benefit of the entire ecosystem.
The Poplar (*Populus*) is a deciduous tree found in temperate zones worldwide, recognisable by the characteristic rustling of its leaves in the wind. Its light, versatile wood is used to manufacture packaging boxes, plywood, and particleboard.

### About Luthenay forest
### About Luthenay forest
In the heart of the Sologne region, not far from the commune of Luthenay-Uxeloup in France, lies this multi-species forest. It is composed of mixed plots of red oaks, poplars, Douglas firs, sessile oaks, loblolly pines and Austrian pines.
This former farmland, reforested about 25 years ago, is the subject of a major challenge for us at EcoTree, and we’re pursuing the ambition of continuing to reforest and sustainably manage the area.
Wild boars, roe deer, foxes, pheasants, pigeons and many other species live in the forest, which we aim to support through our biodiversity projects. The entire forest is covered by the Birds Directive Natura 2000 site and part of it by the Habitats Directive Natura 2000 site.
