### Corsican Pine
A symbol of uprightness, patience, and Mediterranean character, the Corsican Pine is a slender and majestic tree that grows slowly but surely towards the sky. It is a meaningful gift for someone who advances with constancy and determination, or to mark a commitment built to last.
Its cones and seeds are a precious food resource for crossbills, nuthatches, and black woodpeckers. Its straight, slender trunk also shelters many insect species beneath its bark, actively contributing to the biodiversity of Mediterranean forests.
The Corsican Pine (Pinus nigra laricio var. corsicana) is a variety endemic to Corsica and a few other Mediterranean islands, prized for the exceptional straightness of its trunk. It is one of the most widely used species in forestry in southern France for the quality of its timber and its robustness against fire.

### About Luthenay forest
In the heart of the Sologne region, not far from the commune of Luthenay-Uxeloup in France, lies this multi-species forest. It is composed of mixed plots of red oaks, poplars, Douglas firs, sessile oaks, loblolly pines and Austrian pines.
This former farmland, reforested about 25 years ago, is the subject of a major challenge for us at EcoTree, and we’re pursuing the ambition of continuing to reforest and sustainably manage the area.
Wild boars, roe deer, foxes, pheasants, pigeons and many other species live in the forest, which we aim to support through our biodiversity projects. The entire forest is covered by the Birds Directive Natura 2000 site and part of it by the Habitats Directive Natura 2000 site.
