### Scots Pine
**A symbol of freedom, longevity, and Nordic elegance**, the Scots Pine is the tree of the great boreal forests, unmistakable for its glowing trunk silhouetted majestically against the winter sky. It is **a gift full of character for someone who loves wild northern landscapes**, or to mark an anniversary with something timeless.
Its cones feed crossbills, and many other bird species, and its scaly bark provides precious shelter for saproxylic insects and bats. Its filtered canopy lets in enough light to maintain a rich understorey vegetation, supporting remarkable biodiversity.
The Scots Pine (*Pinus sylvestris*) is the most widespread conifer in the world, from the Scottish coast to Siberia. Recognisable by its orange-reddish bark in its upper section, it can live up to 700 years and is one of the most important species in European forestry.

### About the Priziac forest
### About the Priziac forest
In the heart of Morbihan's hilly, bocage landscape, interwoven with woods and waterways, the Priziac forest is a previously abandoned farmland. These plots, once cultivated or dedicated to dairy farming until 2020, were gradually abandoned with the disappearance of many farms in the area. It's on this fallow land that EcoTree is taking action: we're planting 22.47 hectares with mixed species, as part of a larger forestry project covering a total of 49 hectares. The plantations, scheduled for the 2026-2027 season, will transform this forgotten land into a living, resilient forest rich in biodiversity.
The site has a high ecological value: it is part of the natural zone of ecological, floristic and faunistic interest (ZNIEFF) of the Ellé watershed, and falls within the perimeter of the Natura 2000 site "Rivière Ellé". The plots overlook the Aër - a tributary of the Ellé - to the north, and another stream which joins the Ellé to the south. Water quality is therefore at the heart of all our decisions.
