### Nordmann Fir
**A symbol of generosity, shared celebrations**, and precious family moments, the Nordmann Fir is the Christmas tree par excellence. It is the one whose branches hold the lights and memories of the most beautiful evenings of the year. Its evergreen foliage provides a dense, protective canopy for many nesting bird species, and its cones are a precious food resource for crossbills and tits. Planted in forests, it contributes to diversifying forest stands and strengthening their resilience in the face of climate change.
The Nordmann Fir (*Abies nordmanniana*) is a large conifer native to the mountains of the Caucasus and north-eastern Turkey, known for its long, soft, glossy needles that do not drop easily. Introduced to Western Europe in the 19th century, it has become the continent's most popular Christmas tree thanks to its beauty and long-lasting freshness.

### About Ploërdut 5 forest
### About Ploërdut 5 forest
Located in Brittany, our Ploërdut forest is made up of four individual plots that we acquired gradually over a period of time.
Ploërdut 5 has a small existing forest, which we have preserved. The rest of the area including meadows and a former agricultura land had already beeing cleared by the former owner. Here we will plant Beech, [Nordmann Fir](/en/species/15), [Sessile Oak](/en/species/4), [Scots pine](/en/species/23), [Western Red Ceder](/en/species/3), Giant Redwood,[ Sitka spruce](/en/species/1) and Monterey Pine with the aim of achieving a mixed forest with continuous cover.
