It is based on the natural growth rate of a tree, which is estimated at around 2% per year. This expected gain is referred to as “gross" because it is calculated on the basis of the price of the tree excluding VAT.

### Beech
A symbol of wisdom, patience, and quiet greatness, the Common Beech is the tree of great silent forests —a the one that commands respect and invites you to slow down. It is a profound gift to mark a well-earned retirement, a milestone birthday, or to honour someone whose presence soothes and inspires.
Its beech nuts feed jays, thrushes, wild boar, and small rodents in autumn, and its dense canopy creates an understorey rich in fungi and invertebrates. As its leaves decompose slowly, they produce high-quality humus that deeply nourishes the soil.
The Common Beech (Fagus sylvatica) is a dominant deciduous tree in the forests of western and central Europe, recognisable by its smooth, silver-grey bark. Capable of living for several centuries, it is one of the trees that contributes most to the richness of temperate forest ecosystems.

### About Ploërdut 5 forest
### About Ploërdut 5 forest
Located in Brittany, our Ploërdut forest is made up of four individual plots that we acquired gradually over a period of time.
Ploërdut 5 has a small existing forest, which we have preserved. The rest of the area including meadows and a former agricultura land had already beeing cleared by the former owner. Here we will plant Beech, [Nordmann Fir](/en/species/15), [Sessile Oak](/en/species/4), [Scots pine](/en/species/23), [Western Red Ceder](/en/species/3), Giant Redwood,[ Sitka spruce](/en/species/1) and Monterey Pine with the aim of achieving a mixed forest with continuous cover.
