### Downy Oak
A symbol of resistance, adaptation, and Mediterranean character, the Downy Oak is the tree of sunshine and dry landscapes, capable of thriving where other species yield to heat and drought. It is a meaningful gift for someone who loves southern landscapes, or to mark a moment of determination and resilience.
Its acorns feed a varied wildlife: wild boar, jays, and squirrels, while its spring flowers provide a precious source of pollen for wild bees. Its natural cavities offer nesting sites for many bird and bat species, making it a pillar of Mediterranean biodiversity.
The Downy Oak (Quercus pubescens) is a deciduous tree of Mediterranean regions, recognisable by the white down that covers its young leaves and shoots in spring. Particularly well adapted to hot, dry summers, it is a key species for the future of forests in regions exposed to climate warming.

### About Montplonne Forest
### About Montplonne Forest
Between the communes of Montplonne and Stainville, the Montplonne Forest is located. The property is made up of 3 forest clusters comprising more than ten different species of trees. These include [whitebeams](/en/species/31), [Austrian black pines](/en/species/29) and Norway maples.
We acquired this large forest in the autumn of 2022 with the aim of bringing it to its full potential by adapting our management to its natural characteristics. Sanitary cuts were carried out there by the previous owner to combat the spread of bark beetles due to repeated droughts and mild winters in recent years.
