### Expected gain
The expected gross gain corresponds to the amount (in the selected currency) that we will pay you back when your trees have been cut. It is based on the natural growth rate of a tree, which is estimated at around 2% per year. This expected gain is referred to as “gross" because it is calculated on the basis of the price of the tree excluding VAT.

### Norway Spruce
A symbol of tradition, family warmth, and festivity, the Norway Spruce is the tree of reunions and precious moments shared with those we love. It is the ideal gift to mark Christmas, a winter birth, or any occasion that deserves to be celebrated with warmth.
Its evergreen branches offer precious shelter for birds during the winter months, and its cones are a key food source for crossbills, tits, and squirrels. In the forest, it creates a cool, stable microclimate that supports understorey biodiversity.
The Norway Spruce (Picea abies) is the most widespread conifer in northern and central Europe, recognisable by its characteristic pyramidal shape and long pointed needles. It is the traditional Christmas tree par excellence, and also one of the most prized timbers in instrument-making for violins and guitars.

### About Kalundborg forest
### About Kalundborg forest
Kalundborg forest is located on the Northwestern coast of Denmark’s largest island, Zealand, just about an hour's drive from Copenhagen.
As the land previously was used for agriculture and we’ve only recently planted our first saplings the forest management plan for Kalundborg forest is thought through for the next 219 years.
There is a pre-historic memorial site from the stone age on the neighbouring land, so a small area of our land is protected, which we'll leave untouched so the flower meadow can blossom and provide food for our vital pollinators.
