### Douglas fir
A symbol of height, ambition, and surpassing limits, the Douglas Fir is the tree of those who think big and dare to aim higher. It is an inspiring gift to mark a graduation, a new role, or any project that is taking off fast.
Its dense branches offer prime shelter for many nesting bird species, and its leaf litter enriches the forest floor with organic matter, feeding a rich and varied soil fauna. In mixed forests, it plays an essential structural role for the entire ecosystem.
The Douglas Fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii) is a conifer native to the Pacific coast of North America, where it can exceed 100 metres in its natural habitat. Introduced to Europe in the 19th century, it is today one of the most widely cultivated species in forestry for the quality and durability of its timber.

### About Pont-de-Buis forest
The Pont-de-Buis forest is located between Quimper and Brest in the heart of the regional parc ‘Parc Naturel Régional d’Armorique’ in Brittany. The area profits from more than 1.000 mm of yearly rain.
This forest used to be agricultural land but is planted with Chestnut, Red Oak, Beech, Douglas fir, and Atlas cedar. We have also preserved an acidophilic Beech forest with Holly rich in biodiversity.
