About Gioux forest

The Gioux forest covers 30 hectares of land, not far from the small village of the same name, in the Creuse department in the New-Aquitaine region in the south west of France.
This forest is home to Douglas fir, sitka and larch trees which take root at an altitude of about 791 metres. Part of the forest was a clear-cut area before EcoTree took over the land. Our forestry management model will include using irregular high forestry - meaning we plant different species with different ages to make the forest resistant.
