### Chestnut
A symbol of abundance, generosity, and longevity, the Sweet Chestnut is the tree of autumn feasts and generous harvests, one that has nourished people and animals alike for millennia. It is a warm and meaningful gift for a birth, a well-earned retirement, or any moment that celebrates fullness of life.
Its chestnuts are a vital food resource for wild boar, deer, squirrels, and many bird species in autumn, while its summer flowers are among the most nectar-rich in Europe, attracting a multitude of pollinators. A single mature chestnut can shelter hundreds of insect species on its own.
The Sweet Chestnut (Castanea sativa) is a deciduous tree native to southern Europe, capable of living several hundred years and reaching impressive dimensions. Its naturally moisture-resistant wood has been used for centuries in construction, cooperage, and furniture-making.

### About Launay Guen Forest
### About Launay Guen Forest
The Launay Guen forest is located in the Côtes-d’Armor in Brittany, France. This region is characterised by a cool climate with abundant rainfall (over 1000 mm/year), often misty and windy.
Situated on a south-east facing slope, the woods stretch across from a soft hill, and it borders the pond of Launay’s castle.
With a total area of 121 hectares, it’s divided into 11 forestry sites of varied sizes and types. We acquired it in 2021 from a private owner.
