Why call on EcoTree?

Many companies commission us to identify forestry projects for financing, in exchange for carbon credits certified by the Label Bas Carbone, a scheme supported and recognised by the French government. Thanks to this model :

Planting carried out

Montplonne forest (Meuse)

We acquired this 83-hectare forest after it was clear-cut to contain an epidemic of bark beetles. The previous owner had no choice but to carry out a sanitary cut. After allowing a little time for natural regeneration to take hold, we planted new trees in two stages, taking care to mix species to encourage the ecosystem's resilience: sessile oak, laricio pine, Austrian black pine, Atlas cedar, larch, wild cherry, beech, etc. The sale of carbon certificates meeting the demanding criteria of our original methodology, validated by Bureau Veritas, enabled us to finance this reforestation project.

EcoTree

Semblançay forest (Indre-et-Loire)

We planted 9.5 hectares of woodland on this former meadow that had changed use. This first afforestation project enabled us to create a resilient forest cover, structured around sessile oak and complementary local species, taking into account the site constraints (acid soils, steep slopes, climate with late frosts). On behalf of a third party, we planted more than 14,000 trees (oak, birch, hazel and hornbeam), generating more than 1,000 tonnes of additional carbon certified by the French government (LBC).

EcoTree

Ploërdut forest (Morbihan)

On this former farmland in Brittany, we planted a mixed forest of red cedar, Sitka spruce and maritime pine covering almost 17 hectares. As this parcel of land is part of a type 2 ZNIEFF, we took this biodiversity element into account and worked to further enrich the diversity of life by planting a melliferous hedge to feed pollinating insects and restoring a wetland. In this way, we have not only contributed to the planting of trees, but also to the abundance of life. The forest has now been awarded the "Territoire de faune sauvage" label.

FAQ

What kind of help is on offer?

We can offer you financial and technical support, taking charge of all or part of the afforestation or reforestation of your plots, helping you to plant the trees and looking after them in the years that follow. Our methods are based on sustainable forestry and we are committed to preserving and conserving the richness of your woodland, or enabling you to afforest new land. Our methods are based on sustainable forestry, and we are committed to preserving and conserving the richness of your woodland, or enabling you to afforest new land. We also take care of the legal aspects of the project, completing the documents and submitting them to the government in the case of an AML carbon project, or making contact with forestry experts, notary offices and all the legal or administrative entities required for the successful completion of the project.

How does LBC certification help with tree planting?

More than just helping you to plant trees, we offer to take full responsibility for the labelling mechanism of your reforestation project, so that you can enjoy the fruits of your land while benefiting from external funding. The solution is simple: the government allocates carbon credits to certain forestry projects, which provide substantial aid to those who need to plant or replant trees to build beautiful forests. The solution is simple: the government allocates carbon credits to certain forestry projects, providing substantial assistance to those who need to plant or replant trees to build beautiful forests. The LBC (Label Bas-Carbone) label, set up by the French Ministry of Ecological Transition, is an incentive and structuring tool that helps tree planting by providing a clear and reliable framework for carbon sequestration projects. Here's how it helps tree planting:

1. Official recognition and credibility
The label guarantees that plantation projects comply with strict environmental quality and monitoring criteria. This reassures financiers (companies, local authorities, individuals) who want to offset part of their CO₂ emissions transparently and effectively.

2. Financing via voluntary carbon offsetting
Thanks to the label, project sponsors (farmers, foresters, local authorities, etc.) can sell carbon credits from their plantations to players wishing to offset their carbon footprint. This additional funding makes many projects economically viable.

3. Rigorous methodological framework
The label imposes a standardised methodological framework (with specific methods such as the "plantation" method for forests), guaranteeing:
- the sustainability of the plantations,
- monitoring over time,
- and additionality (the project would not have been carried out without the carbon financing.

4. Leverage effect for public policies
It forms part of national strategies to combat climate change, by encouraging local initiatives that are in line with climate and biodiversity objectives.

5. Encouraging good forestry practice
Projects awarded the label must also comply with ecological criteria (choice of species, diversity, non-artificialization), which encourages sustainable management of new plantations

How does tree-planting aid work?

1. Contact us to present your planting project.
2. If it is eligible, we will raise the necessary funding from our partners, take care of the certification process and handle most of the administrative formalities.
3. You remain fully involved in your forest management.in the vast majority of cases, the funding will cover a large proportion of the preparation, planting and management work.

It's often possible to get help to plant trees on your damaged land or forest! Thanks to certain mechanisms that we have mastered perfectly, there are great opportunities to ensure that France's forests - our priceless heritage! - do not deteriorate, but on the contrary grow richer and bear better fruit. When a forest owner makes his property bear fruit, the whole country benefits as a ripple effect. The trickle-down of true wealth is here: in nature. At EcoTree, we're committed to restoring its value.

Do you guarantee the preservation of my assets?

If you entrust us with your forest or the planting of your land, we undertake to respect its heritage value and to guide tree planting and forest management according to the main principles of continuous-canopy mixed silviculture, promoted by ProSilva in particular. The forest management we put in place is based on the diversity of tree species, adaptation to climate change, respect for the soil and biodiversity, and the inclusion of any new forest in a way that respects the pre-existing landscape.

We are aware that giving up a family heritage, or land you have worked on, is not trivial, so we undertake to treat it with as much respect as we would our own, as we ourselves are landowners who are viscerally attached to our land.

Does your forest management take biodiversity into account?

In all the forest management we undertake, whether it's tree planting, stand irregularisation or long-term management, we take into account respect for biodiversity. We see forests as complete ecosystems with multiple interactions that need to be cared for at every stage.

As soon as we can, we take steps to restore biodiversity: restoring peat bogs, wetlands, riparian zones, marking tree habitats, planting hedges or stepped borders. A wood will only grow in good health if there is an abundance of living diversity within it.

Which trees are you planting?

We plant tree species that are adapted to the soil and climate conditions of the forest site, while taking into account the need for wood production, carbon sequestration and adaptation to climate change. We can therefore plant so-called exotic tree species, in reasonable proportions, if they are proven to be more resistant to climate change than native species. We also encourage natural regeneration, which helps to increase the diversity of forests, even in the case of plantations.

Does your tree-planting aid take climate change into account?

Aware that climate change is real and that it is having a particular impact on France's trees and forests, we are endeavouring to plant trees that will still be alive and well in the decades to come. This means that we sometimes plant species that are not the local tree species, but which have every chance of being so in several decades' time. In addition, to minimise the effects of climate change, we constantly maintain forest cover and carry out targeted tree harvesting.

Why is it a good idea to contact EcoTree in advance, even if your project is medium or long-term?

Contacting EcoTree at an early stage allows you to benefit from strategic support from the very first stages of your project. Even if your reforestation, sustainable management or carbon enhancement project is not planned for the immediate future, there are a number of elements that need to be anticipated: land eligibility, selection of financing methods, administrative preparation and positioning in the certification timetable.
br/> In addition, we are currently building up a network of contacts with forest and land owners, because some financiers may have targeted needs or invest heavily in specific areas. By already being in contact, we can offer you concrete opportunities as soon as they emerge.

Anticipating your contacts means optimising your chances of accessing suitable funding, protecting the future value of your project, and joining a network that will be activated as soon as strategic funding becomes available.
