At Ploërdut 2, a small wood of mature [Douglas fir](/en/species/2) has been preserved, whilst the rest of area has been cut by the previous owner. Thus, we replanted [Sitka spruce](/en/species/1) and [Red cedar](/en/species/3) with the aim of achieving a mixed high-forest with continuous forest cover. We planted Sitka Spruce on this area in 2020, but it was difficult for the young trees to grow because of the terrain. Thus, we replanted in the spring of 2021. The trees have been covered with Trico, a repellent based on sheep fat. We also cleared the plot for competiting vegetation to give the tree better conditions to grow in. In 2022 we weeded out a second time and replanted where it was necessary. We layed down mulching in 2023.
