About Guiscriff forest

About Guiscriff forest

Our Guiscriff forest is located in Morbihan in northwestern France. Previously, it was prairies and agricultural land. The forest grows in sandy and cleyey soil on a southfaceing granite bedrock, and benefits from more than 1.000 mm rainfall yearly. This forest will be planted with different species of trees by our local partners in the autumn of 2023. We are also upkeeping the embankment and hedges already present there.

EcoTree’s actions for biodiversity

EcoTree’s actions for biodiversity

In our Guiscriff forest, we are taking action to promote biodiversity. This includes the conservation and maintenance of an embarkment and hedges on 4.3 hectares of land. The embankment creates an environment conducive to a variety of plant species. By preserving this space, we are encouraging the growth of native plants, some of which may be rare or threatened. Hedges play a crucial role in providing natural shelter. They provide nesting places for birds, shelter for small mammals and feeding areas for insects.
