Faouët 2 forest

The Faouët forest is located in Brittany in France and is divided into 5 plots that we acquired between 2017 and 2022.
The various plots are bordered by two rivers and cover nearly 50 hectares in total. Our objective is to have uneven-aged stands on all the plots, while at the same time enriching the existing biodiversity and increasing the production of timber and industrial wood within the framework of sustainable forestry. Faouët 2 is a previous agricultural area, where we have plantet Douglas fir, Redwood, Western red cedar, Cedar, and Chestnut.

In 2022, manual clearing was carried out to remove young seedlings from competing vegetation and a natural repellent was applied to the entire plantation. Although 90% of the saplings survived their first year of planting, a supplemental filling was carried out the following year.
