About the Loguivy forest

About the Loguivy forest

The Loguivy forest is located in the municipality of Loguivy-Plougras in Brittany in France. In fact, it is very close to our Huelgoat forest, which is located in the heart of a green valley with a river. Being the very first forest purchased by EcoTree in 2014, this former wasteland was planted with Sitka spruces.
Thanks to its geographical location, this mysterious forest offers a fabulous journey back in time, from the Gallic Wars to the epic tales of King Arthur.

EcoTree’s forestry actions

EcoTree’s forestry actions

This property was a former wasteland that was planted with Sitka spruce. Since then, we have regularly maintained the plot and the seedlings through various forestry activities.
In 2021 and 2023, every other row of all the resinous stands was mulched to clear the seedlings of competing vegetation consisting of Scottish broom and gorse heaths. This allowed forestry workers to clear the plants manually, creating a passage.
